Chairman’s letter 21st June 2021
It is with great regret that due to the coronavirus pandemic the Kington Show committee has taken the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 show which would have been held on Saturday 11th September.
We were hopeful that the government roadmap would mean life returning to normal from the 21st June. Unfortunately, as we are all aware this date has been delayed due to the significantly increasing numbers in cases and hospitalisations and the committee feel that the financial risk and high potential of complications of social distancing are too great to continue.
We need to ensure the safety of our Farmers, Traders, Exhibitors, Volunteers, Visitors, Committee Members and the local community and feel there are still too many unknowns.
We will roll over the plans we had for 2021 into making our next show on the 10th September 2022 one not to be missed.
This has been a very difficult decision and there have been many discussions with our committee and other event organisers. Given the current level of uncertainty we feel that cancellation is the only option that will not only safeguard the financial security of the show for the future but will also protect the health and safety of all involved.
We would like to thank all of you for your continued support of the show. It will be back in 2022 when we all know what the new normal will be.
WELCOME TO KINGTON SHOW.
Kington Show is one of the largest one-day agricultural shows in the country and will be held again this year on the second Saturday in September.
With its roots firmly embedded in farming, the show brings together the local community and provides a setting for all to enjoy a fantastic day out.
Along with horse and riding competitions, the show has managed to blend the traditional agricultural feel of livestock and horticultural competitions with the lively entertainment on offer for the whole family in and around the main ring. We have YFC, Shearing and Dog competitions all day as well as a wonderful display of Vintage vehicles.
We also expect to have over 100 outdoor trade stands, a busy Food & Craft marquee and a wide variety of catering options including a licensed public bar.
Find out more about this year’s show and put the date in your diary – come and join us for a day to remember!
